Congrats, Jess & Chris!

Jess and the Bandits lead singer Jess Clemmons has announced her engagement, after a whirlwind romance with Chris Peavey. Congratulations to them both – we’re delighted!

Having established herself a solo artist, Jess broke into the mainstream when Radio 2 championed her single ‘Single Tonight in January 2014. We have, of course, supported her every step of the way following an acoustic session at D&S HQ in 2013.

Things have been busy beyond the world of music. In summer 2015, Jess was announced as the ambassador of British plus size fashion chain Evans. She fronted the #StyleHasNoSize campaign, recording a music video for her single ‘Nitty Gritty’ with the brand and winners of a competition to feature in the clip. She was the very first country artist to figure-head a high-street chain in the UK.

Back to music, and a deluxe release of the band’s debut album Here We Go Again entered the UK Official Country Charts Top 20. It featured a fabulous cover of Lee Brice’s ‘I Don’t Dance’, one of Jess’ favourites which she believes would be the perfect wedding song!

Having been busy in the studio over the last six months, working on the follow-up to the debut album, Jess is also gearing up for another busy summer of festivals, including appearances at Buckle & Boots in June and Cottingham Folk Festival. We suspect she’ll also be making time for a little wedding planning!
